Since its inception in 1997, Tongyeong Municipal Boys and Girls Choir has become a much loved and well respected cultural ambassador for the UNESCO Creative City of Tongyeong, South Korea.

Besides its bi-annual performances at the new Tongyeong Concert Hall, the Choir takes part in a variety of activities both in the region and nationally. Engaging in activities with Tongyeong ́s sister cities and within the UNESCO Creative City network, the choir has also performed abroad: most recently it took part in the 2018 Spring Music Festival in Kanazawa, Japan.

Tongyeong being the birthplace of Isang Yun, the choir takes pride in performing the childrens songs and Early songs of this great Korean composer.
