How to Apply
The competition is open to cellists of any nationality born on or after October 28, 1976 and on or before October 27, 1991. The application package with required materials must be sent to Gyeongnam International Music Competition office no later than August 19, 2006.

Due to the additional mailing time, international applicants are encouraged to apply early, or you must send it via express mail in order to have the application package in the competition office on time.
(* No application package arriving after the due date will be accepted except the one posted before August 5, 2006)
Your completed application package must include the following:
a) A completed and signed application form
b) Recent resume / curriculum vitae
c) Recording of applicant's performance (in a format of CD, cassette tape or video tape)
d) Two photos (front, waist-up, 5.5cm X 6.5cm)
e) A copy of passport or any other legal document that includes a photo, date of birth
and nationality of applicant.
f) Recommendation letters from two eminent musicians. Only Korean and English languages are
allowed. If written in any other languages, they are required to have a Korean or English translation and a copy of the original letter as well.
g) A letter that proves the recording is not edited.
¡Ø No other materials (ex. newspaper clippings etc.) should be enclosed.
¡Ø No documents will be returned.
¡Ø No application package arriving after the due date will be accepted except the ones posted
before Aug. 5, 2006.

    An applicant who has been selected to participate in the 1st Stage of the competition must submit an entry fee of US$ 100.00 to the bank account shown below by September 16, 2006.

    * The arrival of the entry fee will be considered a conclusion of a formal agreement between
    the Candidate (Competitor) and the Organizer regarding his/her participation in the Competition under the conditions set out in this regulation.
    * The entry fee is non-refundable.
    Travel and Accommodation
    Travel expenses to and from Tongyeong are the responsibility of the competitors. However, competitors with high scores at preliminary stage, extraordinary talent or awards at major international competitions, may have the chance to be provided with financial aid towards their international travel expenses by the recommendation from the Preliminary Jury. All competitors will be provided with room and board by the Secretariat at the lodgings specified from October 26, 2006 until the end of their official participation:
    a) 1st Stage competitors : until the morning following the last day of the 1st Stage
    b) 2nd Stage competitors : until the morning following the last day of the 2nd Stage
    c) Finalists : until the morning following the final day of the competition.
    All competitors are required to arrive in Tongyeong by October 27, 2006 to register with the Secretariat and to draw lots to decide the order of performance at the competition.

    Competitors who wish to stay longer than his/her official duration would be provided with special discounted accommodations at his/her expenses.
