Chairman of the Jury, Gyeongnam International Music Competition 2005
Klaus Hellwig had recitals throughout Europe, North and South America, Austrailia, Middle East and Far Eastern countries, and also performed with numerous leading orchestras in the world. In addition, he actively performed as a chamber musician and teamed up with Mi-joo Lee forming a piano-duo. His teachers include Detlef Kraus, Pierre Sancan, Guido Agosti, and Wilhelm Kempff. After 10 years as a professor at the Folkwang-Hochschule Essen, he is teaching since 1980 at the Berlin University of the Arts. He held master classes in many countries and often received invitations as a jury to international competitions such as the Leeds, the Tchaikovsky in Moscow, the ARD in Munich, the Busoni, the William Kapell at the University of Maryland and Orléans. His students continuously are awarded prizes at major international competitions.

| Prof. Tong-Il Han (Korea/U.S.A)

Tong-Il Han has performed with many of the world's finest orchestras around the world, collaborating with great conductors of our generation. The government of Republic of Korea awarded him the Order of Moran (Peony), the highest civil service award. As Artistic Director of Tong-Il Han Piano Institute he has held summer piano festivals in London, Budapest, Boston, Honolulu, Vancouver, Seoul, Pebble Beach, and Hiroshima, among other places. The 15th anniversary festival was held at Kookmin University in Seoul, and it drew over one hundred twenty pianists. He has taught at Indiana University, Illinois State University, University of North Texas, and Boston University. Presently, he is Professor of Music and Dean of College of Music at University of Ulsan in Korea, and Adjunct Professor at Elisabeth University of Music in Hiroshima, Japan. He also has extended his musical creativity to Thailand as Artistic Director of Chiang Mai Music Festival, February 2006.

Haruko Kasama received her degree from Tokyo University of Arts in 1959. During her studies at the University, she received prestigious "Ataka Award". In 1960, she went to Berlin, Germany, to continue her studies. In 1963, Kasama graduated from University of Music in Berlin. Since her debut in 1959 in Tokyo, Kasama has been active performing recitals and solo performances with Tokyo philharmonic orchestra and Japan philharmonic orchestra and so on. In 1978, she organized and became director for "Tokyo Arts Ensemble", a chamber music series in Tokyo. Kasama had been a professor at Tokyo University of Arts from 1968 to 2002. Currently, Kasama is a visiting professor at Nagoya University of Arts. She continues performing recitals in Japan and Europe as well as serving a judge for several Piano Competitions in Japan and Taiwan.

Roland Keller has given numerous piano recitals and has performed with famous orchestras and conductors. He has toured Germany, U.K., Italy, Portugal, Slovakia, the former Soviet Union, Southeast Asia and Japan. His teachers include Júrgen Uhde, André Perret and Ludwig Hoffmann, and he attended master classes of Lajos Hernádi, Ludwik Stefanski, Tatjana Krawtschenko, Guido Agosti, Maria Tipo, and Wilhelm Kempff. He won the Josef Pembaur Award in Bern, Switzerland, and received prizes at the Music Competition in Bonn, Germany, as well as the ARD in Munich and the "Busoni" in Bolzano. In 1978 he became a professor at the University for Music in Lübeck, Germany. Since 1986, he has been a professor at Vienna University of Music and Performing Arts. Recently, he has given lectures and seminars on piano and performing techniques, and invited as a jury for international piano competitions.

The Korean National University of Arts
Achieving undergraduate to doctorate degrees at the Juilliard School, Daejin Kim had numerous recitals and soloist appearances with major orchestras all over the world. He has been a member of the associate faculty at the Manhattan School of Music and guest artist faculty at the Ishikawa Music Academy in Japan. Currently he is a Professor at the Korean National University of Arts and his students have won the prizes in the major international competitions such as the Busoni, the Viotti, the Ettlingen, the Oberlin, the Cleveland, the Sendai(Japan) International Competitions. In addition to the jury for Gyeongnam International Music Competition 2005, he is invited to be a jury for the Cleveland International Piano Competition in 2005, of which he won the first prize in 1985 and the Ettlingen International Competition in 2006.

Concert Pianist
Anna Malikova was born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, where she received her first piano lessons with Tamara Popovich. She studied in Moscow with Lev Naumov at the Central Music School and at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory, from where she graduated in 1991. Afterwards she held herself a teaching position at the Conservatory for several years. In 1993 Anna Malikova won 1st Prize at the ARD Competition Munich - the only first prize for a pianist in 12 years. This success established Anna Malikova in the international music scene. Today she gives solo-recitals, performs as chamber music partner and is soloist with orchestras all over Europe, South America, the Middle and the Far East.

| Prof. Jerome Rose (U.S.A.)

Mannes College of Music
A graduate of the Mannes College and the Juilliard School of Music, Jerome Rose studied with Leonard Shure and Rudolf Serkin at Marlboro. He was also a Fulbright Scholar in Vienna. He is on the Faculty of the Mannes College of Music and is Founder/Director of the International Keyboard Institute & Festival held every summer in New York City. He has given master classes at the Moscow Conservatory, the Chopin Academy in Warsaw, and at the Toho School in Japan. He has appeared with such orchestras as the Berlin Philharmonic, Munich Philharmonic, Vienna Symphony, and Santa Cecilia. In addition he has been soloist with most major U. S. orchestras such as the Chicago Symphony, San Francisco Symphony. Among his numerous recordings, recordings of Franz Liszt for Vox were awarded the Grand Prix du Disque from the Liszt Society of Budapest.

| Prof. Erik T. Tawaststjerna (Finland)

Sibelius Academy
As a gifted student who began his earlier musical education in Helsinki and Moscow Conservatory, Erik T. Tawaststjerna studied with Dieter Weber at the Vienna Music Academy and Sascha Gorodnitzki at Julliard School. He also studied with Eugene List at New York University from which he holds a doctorate. Tawaststjerna won a top prize at the national Finnish piano competition in 1968, and was appointed full prefessor of piano and head of piano studies in 1986 at the Sibelius Academy. Besides being a co-director of the biennial Espoo International Piano Festival, Erik T. Tawaststjerna has been on the juries of a number of international competitions including the José Iturbi Competition, the AXA Piano Competition, the Weimar Liszt Competition, the London International Piano Competition, and the International Beethoven Competition. He has made numerous recordings, among them a series of 8 recordings with the complete piano music by Jean Sibelius on the BIS label.

Pianist Francoise Thinat studied with Yvonne Lefébure and Germaine Mourier at Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris and then participated in master classes with Marguerite Long, Georges Tripine, Louis Fourestier, and Guido Agosti. She has given concerts and held numerous master classes all over the world. She is the President/Founder of Orléans International 20th Century Piano Competition which is attracting a large number of candidates and gaining a world wide reputation. She contributed to the important pedagogic work "10 years with 20th century piano", with the Cité de la Musique, Paris. She teaches at the Ecole Normale de Musique Paris and is regularly invited as a jury member of international competitions. She has often made live recordings for Radio France, including the world premiere performance of the Sonata of Jean Barraqué.
