A. HOW TO APPLY
|
The competition is open to pianists of any nationality born on or after October 29, 1977 and before
October 28, 1990. The application package with required materials must be sent to GIMC office no later
than August 20, 2005.
Due to the additional mailing time, international applicants are encouraged to apply early, or you must
send it via express mail in order to have the application package in the competition office on time.
(* No application package arriving after the due date will be accepted except the one posted before
August 6, 2005)
Your completed application package must include the following:
a) A completed and signed application form
b) Recent resume / curriculum vitae
c) Recording of applicant's performance (in a format of CD, cassette tape or video tape)
d) Two photos (front, waist-up, 5.5cm X 6.5cm)
e) A copy of passport or any other legal document that includes a photo, date of birth and nationality of
applicant.
f) Recommendation letters from two eminent musicians. Only Korean and English languages are
allowed. If written in any other languages, they are required to have a Korean or English translation
and a copy of the original letter as well.
g) A letter that proves the recording is not edited.
* No other materials (ex. newspaper clippings etc.) should be enclosed.
* No documents will be returned.
* No application package arriving after the due date will be accepted except the ones posted before
Aug. 6, 2005.

D. Entry Fee
|
An applicant who has been selected to participate in the 1st Stage of the competition must submit an
entry fee of USD100.00 to the bank account shown below by September 17, 2005. |

* The arrival of the entry fee will be considered a conclusion of a formal agreement between the
Candidate(Competitor) and the Organizer regarding his/her participation in the Competition under the
conditions set out in this regulation.
* The entry fee is non-refundable.

E. Travel and Accommodation
|
Travel expenses to and from Tongyeong are the responsibility of the competitors. However,
competitors
with high scores at preliminary stage, extraordinary talent or awards at major international
competitions,
may have the chance to be provided with financial aid towards their international travel expenses by the
recommendation from the Preliminary Jury. All competitors will be provided with room and board by the
Secretariat at the lodgings specified from October 27, 2005 until the end of their official participation: |
| a) 1st Stage competitors |
: the morning following the last day of the 1st Stage |
| b) 2nd Stage competitors |
: the morning following the last day of the 2nd Stage |
| c) Finalists |
: the morning following the final day of the competition |

All competitors are required to arrive in Tongyeong by October 28, 2005 to register with the
Secretariat and to draw lots to decide the order of performance at the competition.
Competitors who wish to stay longer than his/her official duration would be provided with special
discounted accommodations at his/her expenses. |

F. Performance
|
The order of appearance of the competitors will be determined by drawing lots before the 1st Stage
starts(see "E"). On the day of appearance, each competitor must show up at the concert hall by the
specified time. Those who are unable to perform when called upon to do so may be disqualified.
However, if any competitor should be late for his/her appearance due to unavoidable circumstances,
the Jury may allow the competitor to perform, if he/she requests so, depending on the progress of the
Competition.
All the stages of the competition are open to the public. |

G. Performance Rights
|
While the competitors are in Korea, they will be contracted exclusively to the competition.
All approaches
to the media must be made through and with the approval of the Secretariat, and the
competitors will be
required to be available for media calls as arranged.
The Secretariat has the right, without payment of fees to the competitors, to:
a) Televise, broadcast, film, record, videotape or photograph all stages of the competition for media or
for any other purpose.
b) Produce and distribute without limit recordings of all the stages of the competition, either in whole
or in part, including the prize winners' concerts, recitals, and CDs offered by the Organizer as part
of the prize.
c) Produce documentary or feature films.

A. 참가신청방법
|
| 1. 1977년 10월 29일부터 1990년 10월 28일 사이에 출생한 자는 국적에 관계없이 누구나 참가할 수 있다. |
2. 참가희망자는 소정신청서에 다음 자료를 첨부하여 2005년 8월 20일까지 콩쿠르 사무국에 우편으로
제출되어야 한다. |
가. 작성된 지원서 양식
나. 프로필 1통(영어 또는 한국어)
다. 참가신청자의 연주가 녹음된 CD 혹은 카세트 테이프 혹은 비디오 테이프 1개
라. 최근 3개월 이내에 찍은 명함판 컬러사진 2매(5.5㎝×6.5㎝ 정면상반신)
마. 주민등록등본 또는 여권 사진면 사본 또는 출생증명서 사본 1통(또는 연령 및 국적을 증명하는 공문서)
바. 피아노 전공 음악인을 포함한 저명 음악인 2인의 추천서 각 1통
사. 비디오 테이프가 아닐 경우 위 '다'항의 녹음내용이 참가신청자 본인의 연주라는 것과 이 녹음이
편집되지 않은 것임을 확인하는 위 '바'항의 추천인 중 1인이 작성한 확인서 1통 |

D. 참가비
|
1. 1차 예선 진출을 통보 받은 참가신청자는 참가비 12만원 (미화 100달러)을 2005년 9월 17일까지 다음
은행구좌로 입금하여야 한다. (단, 참가비는 어떤 경우에도 반환되지 않는다.) |

2. 1차 예선 진출예정자는 참가비 납입과 함께 이 콩쿠르에의 참가가 확정되며, 이 요강에 명시된 조건에 따라
참가자와 주최자간에 합의가 성립된다. |

E. 항공료 및 체재비
|
이 콩쿠르 참가에 따른 여행경비는 참가자 본인부담을 원칙으로 한다. 단, 해외유명콩쿠르에 기입상 하였거나 그에 준하는 실적을 가진 유망연주자가 현재 외국에 거주할 경우 예비심사위원회의 추천으로 항공료 일부 혹은 공식항공사에서 제공하는 항공권을 지원받을 수 있다.
또한 참가자 전원에게는 지정 숙박장소에 한하여 10월 27일부터 다음과 같이 숙식이 제공된다. |

| 참가자는 출연순서 추첨일 하루 전인 2005년 10월 28일 이전에 사무국에 등록하여야 한다. 자신의 해당 공식일정 이외로 추가로 숙박하고 싶은 참가자는 사무국의 주선으로 특별 할인된 가격에 자비로 머무를 수 있다. |

F. 연주
|
주최측에서는 1차 예선 이전에 참가자들의 출연순서를 추첨으로 정하는 것을 원칙으로 한다. 참가자는 콩쿠르 출연날짜에 지정시각까지 공연장내의 사무국에 빠짐없이 출석, 대기하여야 한다. 출연순서에 출연하지 못한 참가자는 기권으로 간주한다.
단, 불가항력으로 인하여 지각한 참가자의 경우, 심사위원회는 참가자의 요청과 콩쿠르 진행상황을 감안하여 나중 순서로 출연하도록 허용할 수 있다. 콩쿠르의 전 단계 연주는 일반에게 공개로 한다. |

G. 공연에 따른 제반권리
|
| 참가자가 이 콩쿠르에 참가하는 동안 참가자와 주최자간에는 독점계약관계가 성립된다. 따라서 참가자가 언론매체와 접촉할 경우, 사전에 주최자의 동의를 얻어야 한다. 주최자는 이 콩쿠르에 있어서 다음과 같은 권리를 가진다. 이에 대해 참가자는 어떠한 경우에도 이의를 제기하거나 공연료를 청구할 수 없다. |
1. 이 콩쿠르의 공연을 언론매체 또는 그밖의 다른 용도로 TV 및 라디오 방송, 사진 또는 비디오촬영, 녹음
또는 녹화함에 있어서의 일체의 권리 |
2. 이 콩쿠르의 모든 공연, 그리고 주최자가 상위 입상자에게 제공하는 콘서트, 리사이틀의 녹음, 녹화물과 CD
음원을 비디오, 음반, 영화로 제작하여 복제, 배포, 판매할 수 있는 일체의 권리 |
