How to Apply
The Competition is open to Violinists of any nationality born on or after October 30, 1981 and on or before October 29, 1996. The Application package with required materials must be sent to the Secretariat no later than August 20, 2011.
Due to the additional mailing time, international Applicants are encouraged to apply early, or required to send it via express mail in order to have the Application package in the Secretariat on time.

The completed Application package must include the following :

  a) A completed and signed application form
  b) Recent resume / curriculum vitae
  c) Recording of applicant¡¯s performance (in the format of CD, DVD, VHS tape or cassette
      tape)
  d) Two photos (front, waist-up, 5.5cm X 6.5cm)
  e) A copy of passport or any other legal document that includes a photo, date of birth and
      nationality of applicant.
  f) Recommendation letters from two eminent musicians: Only Korean and English
     languages are allowed. If written in any other languages, they are required to have a
     Korean or English translation and a copy of the original letter as well.
  g) A letter that proves the recording is not edited.

* No other materials (ex. newspaper clippings etc.) should be enclosed.
* No documents will be returned.
* No Application package arriving after the due date will be accepted except the ones
   posted before August 6, 2011.

Entry Fee
An Applicant who has been selected to participate in the 1st Stage of the Competition must submit an entry fee of US$ 100.00 to the bank account shown below by September 17, 2011.

* The arrival of the entry fee will be considered a conclusion of a formal agreement
   between the Competitor and the Organizer regarding his/her participation in
   the Competition under the conditions set out in this regulation.
* The entry fee is non-refundable.
 
Travel and Accommodation
Travel expenses to and from Tongyeong are the responsibility of the Competitors. However, the Competitors with high scores at Preliminary Stage, extraordinary talent or awards at major international competitions, may have the chance to be provided with financial aid towards their international travel expenses by the recommendation from the Preliminary Jury. All Competitors will be provided with room and board by the Secretariat, at the lodgings specified from October 28, 2011 until the end of their official participation as planned below :

a) 1st Stage Competitors: the morning following the last day of the 1st Stage
b) 2nd Stage Competitors: the morning following the last day of the 2nd Stage
c) Finalists: the morning following the final day of the Competition

All Competitors are required to arrive in Tongyeong by October 29, 2011 to register to the Secretariat and to draw lots to decide the order of performance at the Competition.
Competitors who wish to stay longer than his/her official duration would be provided with specially discounted accommodations at his/her expenses.
